LEARNING

Imagine:  As you approach the pearly gates hopefully, St Peter pops out and gives you an examination paper.

You see that it asks about Jesus’ opinion of various events in your own past life.  “Every question to

be attempted”.  How well prepared do you feel as you sit down to begin?

    A Bible Passage:  Philippians 3:7-21

    Acts 18:24-26, Mt 7:21,

   Some questions:

   1. What have you learnt since you left school?  Is it important to you?  What have you learnt about practical

Christian faith since you became an adult?

       Is it important to you?

2 “Listen to the gospel of Christ . “ we used to say “Hear . .” is there a difference?

   3. Jesus called his disciples to be with him as “learners” and then to go out and spread his message.  In what

ways do you still learn faith, and in what ways do you pass it on?

   4. Paul (Philippians 3:12) seems to insist that he hasn’t “arrived”, despite all his Christian work.  In what ways

would you say the same?  Can Christians ever “retire”?

   5. (Phil 3:18-21)  Is it possible for people to get life seriously wrong?  How do you think this might work out in

practice in your community?  How would  you guard against it?
