WELCOME TO THE PARISH OF SKETTY
PRAYER
VISITORS FROM NOVEMBER 2010
ALISON is the new NSM assistant curate moving to Sketty from the Central Swansea Benefice.
She was ordained priest in June 2011 and believes this to be one of many steps she has taken
along her faith journey…being a work-
Steve, she has four teenage daughters, Ruth, Naomi, Deborah and Mary which she thinks might
be causing her hair to go grey. The family are privileged to live in Rhossili, a very beautiful place
with views and sunsets that defy description. Life experience has included in the distant past a
science degree and jobs in biological science and computer
management, and – throughout -
much voluntary work in various churches. Studies continue which is where any spare time
disappears to. She believes that none of the above can, or should, be used to put her ‘in a box’
and that ‘who we are’ is as unique for each person as a fingerprint. Her journey has many
questions and answers still to discover, and a story that is still in the telling.
SISTER MARIAN is a Anglican Religious who is an Oblate Sister of The Society of The
Society of the Sacred Cross which has its convent in Monmouth. She is also living the
Single Consecrated Life: S. C. L.. Ill health prevents her from living in community.
She has taken the vows of Simplicity, Chastity and Obedience before the Bishop of
Swansea and Brecon who is now the Guardian of her vows.
She is also a Reader in the Church in Wales. She lives her life for God in her home
in Swansea.
To find out more about her, visit her web-
and the website of the S.C.L.
