OUR FAMILY WORKER SIAN

Hi ! My name is Sian Parkhouse and I am the recently appointed children and family worker.

I was born and brought  up in the Rhymney Valley and then in 1991 moved with my family   to

Aberystwyth, where I attended Penglais school  and Coleg Ceredigion, where I studied

                                                child care.

My practical child care skills developed when I worked in a local primary school, day  care

nursery and through  setting up a holiday club.

I know from my sixteen years of experience of working with children and their families,   the

benefits of group activities.  They can bring together all the elements of the wider family circle,

whilst encouraging  and supporting the children to develop in a happy and safe environment.

In my new role, I believe my enthusiasm, passion and my faith will enable me to show both

children and there  families that the church is a FUN  place to come to.

I live in Burry Port with my husband Michael and our five cats!  My parents, Mary and Robert, live close by in

Pembrey, which is great, as we can   pop in for tea!  We worship as a family in St. Illtyd's church in Pembrey, where I

   was a Sunday school teacher.
