Tuesday   Eucharist’s – an opportunity for those who

like a quieter service, or cannot get to church on a Sunday.

 Christian Teachers:

the Bishop hopes to establish a Society of Christian Teachers in

the diocese, and has asked clergy to enquire who might care to be involved.

It seems an excellent idea, so – anyone interested?

The Vicar and Wardens have again made a Health and Safety survey of St Paul’s churchyard, noting

a number of dangerous monuments (leaning headstones, collapsed centres, and loose kerbstones. ....

A list is on the church notice board..  Monuments are the responsibility of the family, but

please take note that if these defects are not put right by those concerned, the Parish reserves the right

to take whatever action is necessary to make them safe (including laying stones flat, demolishing or

  removing memorials) without further notice

A grave situation in the churchyard.  As yet, I have had no reaction to the posting of a list of

unsafe monuments in St Paul’s churchyard – I hope that some people have at least checked the

list for family graves!  I fear that nothing will happen until action is taken and someone takes

Offence at a headstone felled or a caved-in centre made safe with rubble stones.

Could we do it the better way, please?

(There is the new edition of the Beacon, now available)

Days Off: the Vicar’s is Thursday, Sue’s Friday, and they appreciate not being disturbed by non-

  emergencies on those days.
